Retail sales/shop assistant
The shop assistant onboard has the following duties: welcome all prospective customers, present and describe the merchandise with enthusiasm, keep the shop neat, organized and clean, operate a cash register to accurately record each sale, restock the store, packing and unpacking of all merchandise, coding and pricing, displays. etc.. The shop assistant reports directly to the assistant shop manager and ultimately to the shop manager. He/she must have a retail education and must have sales experience. He/she must participate in all mandatory safety drills onboard. He/she must have a good understanding of all latest S.T.C.W. rules and regulations.
Assistant gift shop manager
The assistant gift shop manager assists the shop manager in daily operations in the shop or shops onboard. The assistant gift shop manager supervises the sales assistant and/ or gift shop assistants. He/she is responsible for all items in the sales, promotion displays, pricing, correct service and presentation of all sales items. He/she handles all sales administration, financial transactions, accounting, special events, responds to passengers request etc…He/she is responsible for shop supplies, storing, loading and unloading of all sales items, inventory control, stock control. He/she is responsible for the maintenance of all sales equipment. He/she is responsible for manning schedules and work schedules of the sales assistants. He/she must participate in all mandatory safety drills.
Gift shop manager
The gift shop manager is in charge of all operations within she gift shop. His/her responsibilities include accounting and administration of all retail sales, supervision of all employees in the gift shop, responsible for correct presentations of all sales items; displays, racks, etc…, controlling of purchasing, manning schedules, work schedules. He/she is also responsible for all shop supplies, ordering, storing loading and unloading of all sales items. He/she controls inventory, co-ordinates opening hours, and is responsible for the training of all employees in the gift shop. He/she monitors the general discipline in the gift shop. He/she participates in the mandatory safety drills.
The florist on board is responsible for creating and maintaining all flower arrangements. He/she is responsible for the maintenance of all plants on board. He/she operates at the flower stand and sells flowers to the guests onboard. He / she makes sure that all ordered flowers are delivered to the passengers´ cabins. He/she conducts floral arrangements demonstration seminars for the passengers on board. He/she must have previous work experience as a florist and/or be trained in this field. He/she must participate in all mandatory cruise safety drills. He/she must have a good knowledge of all S.T.C.W. rules and regulations.
